Lair dig 2013
Here is a small of selection photographs from this years dig at Lair in Glenshee. The pictures show the dig from the first weekend, the full week and a later weekend. It was an excellent dig, thanks in part to the weather being very good but also to those taking part, a sterling bunch of people. In many ways it was a very successful dig with much revealed that has raised numerous questions that will take sometime to fully resolve.
The landscape around the dig is incredibly rich in archaeology from neolithic times (Burial cairn) to the nineteenth century (Fermtoun). A much recommended visit will reveal quite clear evidence of buildings, enclosures and boundary walls, etc..
